ATmel (AVR) Programming Head - Revision X1

The ATmel Programming Head board allows 28-pin and 8-pin Atmel AVR microprocessors to be programmed. Parts which are supported include the ATMega328P and the ATTiny85.

The board is used in conjunction with the GVSDuino Revision X3 or later to program AVRs.

The ATMega328P socket is a Zero Insertion Force socket which allows for easier programming than standard sockets (no tools required).

Compatible Software

The board is compatible with ArduinoISP running on the GVSDuino.

Improvements

  • The LED polarity is backwards. Apparently the ArduinoISP sketch assumes that the LEDs are driven to ground.
    • Added to Rev X2 board design.
  • TEXTOOL socket is not aligned exactly with the silkscreen. Should shift the part on the board slightly to match.
